Removed the diplomat flags, and installed a dash cam on the 97.

I drove it around trying to find jeans that fit again, to no avail.

Next stop amazon.

Susan called me and told me that she had a tire going down. Plugged the right rear tire.

Did the plain ol' Sunday usual routine... Off to church for 5:30 Mass this afternoon, then out to Boston Market for dinner... (had to use my $5.00 coupon before it expired.)
Boston Market isn't the fanciest, but their roasted chicken is pretty decent, and it doesn't break the bank for a family on Social (in)Security...
The one squawk I had with tonight's dinner was the dining room was FREEZING cold! The server knew about it, but said the dining room's temperature was "controlled by corporate"... I don't know if she meant that "the guys in suits" actually controlled the dining area's temperature from corporate headquarters somewhere, or that they just sent out an edict that the temperature MUST be whatever it was set. But it was uncomfortably chilly in the dining area. We should have just taken the food outside and ate it in the car.

Emptied the trunk of water and Pepsi and filled the refrigerator.

Washed it.

Drove it after an extended weekend vacation. Nice to be back in a real car, even with all its' faults.
The Mazda does move, even loaded down as it was, but it's just not the same.

I decided to clean up the Merc's interior a little bit... lots of crud and crap on the floor... so I unlimbered my portable shop-vac and cleaned out the canister and replaced the filter. Suitably fortified, I attacked the bits of sand, twigs, honey-locust leaves and such crud with a vengeance. The floor mats were trash... there was even a hole worn through the driver's mat; looking through my basement of horrors, I came across a brand new set of front floor mats specifically for a Mercury Grand Marquis! Only problem was the retainer in the driver-side mat... it was one of those corkscrew gizmos that actually screws into the car's carpeting. I had to get rid of that screwy thing and install a brass grommet to snag the floor's retainer hook... I have a grommet kit with the necessary parts. Suitably grommetted, and thoroughly vacuumed, I installed the new mats and the car looks presentable once again.

Now, to begin considering the broken Heat-Defrost flap... and a couple tires... and the rust beginning to show on one door.

Washed the bird crap off of it.
I sprayed the windshield washers, that mostly got rid of the crap right in my field of view.

My gosh I need to do this! It got a quick vacuum a month or so ago, it needs a more thorough one and the carpet cleaner needs to come out.

Of course, fixing the windows would also be good. The drivers' is now broke, so all I have is the passenger and rear driver's windows that are operable. Rockauto just reminded me I have a code about to expire, so I think I'll use that and get some wipers while I'm at it. The AC sorta works but needs attention, of course there are the brakes which are still sitting on my garage floor, the seat I put in last year needs attention before it looks like the one I took out, let's not even talk about the body.... :(

Balanced the tires. Somehow the right front was off almost two ounces. Got them all back to six zeros, two by subtraction, and it rode a lot better on the way home.

Inspected it.

Installed a new dash camera in the 06, the old G1W will be transferred to the 97 as soon as I feel like it.
The new camera is the YI Ultra. It has WIFI, so no more messing with the SD card when you want to download footage.
Seems to work well enough.

$18 car wash, because LaVa WaX and 3/4 tire shine.

Drove it downtown.

Well not really downtown, but way further into Buffalo than I care to go.
